The new EU-co-funded project dedicated to cultural heritage management kicks-off

On 2 November 2023 INHERIT project kicked off in Athens.

The EU-co-funded project aims to develop the next-generation solutions for sustainable and resource-efficient buildings in need of differentiated renovation strategies.

In doing so, the team of 18 international partners will create a systematic methodology, based on leading-edge information and communication technologies (ICTs) and social and behavioural practices, towards sustainable, inclusive and resource-efficient solutions.

INHERIT will enable socially innovative and economically viable interventions at different urban levels, not only focussing on buildings, but also on neighbourhoods and cities. All relevant aspects of the heritage-built environment’s life cycle will be covered: starting from design and renovation to management and monitoring, as well as preservation and maintenance.

The project has the ambition to develop a new international standard for the management of cultural heritage buildings, starting from 8 pilot sites. INHERIT’s methodology and solutions will be in fact applied to 8 demo sites across Europe, located in Croatia, France, Greece, Latvia, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and Türkiye.
