INHERIT will join forces with two fellow European projects at the New European Bauhaus (NEB) Festival 2026 for an interactive workshop.
Hosted together with the TIMBERHAUS and EHHUR projects, the workshop explores how communities can collectively shape more sustainable, inclusive and beautiful places to live.
Titled “Co-creating the Future of Living Heritage, Regenerative Materials and Inclusive Cities”, the event is designed and conducted by our partner ICONS and will take place on 11 June 2026 at 14:15 in the “Arena of the Fair” area of the NEB Festival.
The workshop will invite participants to engage in a collaborative and hands-on co-creation experience inspired by the Ikigai method. Through reality-based scenarios drawn from the experiences of the three projects, participants will explore how heritage, inclusive urban regeneration and nature-based solutions can support the transformation of Europe’s built environment.
The session will combine short project presentations, role-playing activities and collaborative mapping exercises. Working in small groups, participants will step into the perspectives of different stakeholders — including citizens, municipalities, community organisations and experts — to imagine new approaches to sustainable and people-centred places.
Each table will focus on one of the core NEB values:
- EHHUR – Prioritising People
- TIMBERHAUS – Reconnecting with Nature
- INHERIT – Belonging
Using an adapted version of the Ikigai framework, participants will reflect on:
- what people care about
- what communities need
- what can realistically be implemented
- what can be sustained over time
The workshop aims to move beyond purely technical approaches and open up a conversation on how sustainable transformation can become more participatory, inclusive and rooted in everyday experiences.
