Discover our framework for integrating social science and multi-stakeholder engagement into decision-making processes.
The sustainable transformation of cultural heritage buildings goes beyond technical solutions. It requires inclusive, participatory approaches that actively engage local stakeholders and foster social innovation. To address this need, INHERIT has released a new publication designed to support more inclusive governance models and socially informed policymaking for cultural heritage buildings.
Titled “People-Centred Transformation of Cultural Heritage Buildings: A Social Science and Multi-Stakeholder Framework for Sustainability” and authored by INHERIT partners ICLEI and UPRC, the info pack presents a framework that integrates social science evidence and structured stakeholder engagement into decision-making processes related to cultural heritage buildings.
The framework is built around four key pillars and draws on insights gathered from the analysis of the eight INHERIT pilot sites, ensuring its evidence base and practical applicability. Thanks to its focus on inclusivity, co-creation, and participatory decision-making, the framework enables people-centred, culturally sensitive, and viable transformation of heritage buildings.
