ICLEI

ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability is a global network working with more than 2,500 local and regional governments committed to sustainable urban development. Active in 125+ countries, it influences sustainability policy and drives local action for low emission, nature-based, equitable, resilient, and circular development. Its members and team of experts work together through peer exchange, partnerships, and capacity building to create systemic change for urban sustainability.

Role in the project

ICLEI contributes by establishing synergies and peer-learning with New European Bauhaus (NEB) related projects on the preservation and transformation of cultural heritage. Further activities include the development of an INHERIT dedicated curriculum, composed of e-learning packages about concepts, methodologies, instruments, and exemplar cases of CH conservation; the implementation of a mentoring scheme captured in living journals updated by the pilots monthly; the enhancement of a policy dialogue at European level through the participation in policy roundtables. ICLEI will also create an INHERIT Policy Lab and cooperate with fellow projects and relevant initiatives from areas of the built environment, heritage transformation, and New European Bauhaus.

Other partners of the project

INHERIT’s consortium gathers 18 partners from 13 European countries, involved in the project at various levels, covering the social, technological, and scientific layer, as well as the communication, dissemination and exploitation activities.
