ISSO

ISSO is a research institute and an open knowledge club focused on the built environment. Through its online platform, ISSO Open, the institute offers a variety of publications and other resources on sustainable practices and energy performance improvement. Its areas of expertise include optimising indoor climate, energy efficiency, installation techniques, and insulation. ISSO aims to provide construction and installation professionals with comprehensive knowledge to build quality buildings and comply with laws and regulations. It also provides professional development.

Role in the project

ISSO’s primary role and tasks are related to analysing the condition of heritage buildings by conducting technical inspections to establish an assessment and monitoring framework. Alongside this, ISSO will contribute to developing a financial sustainability and risk assessment methodology for sustainable and inclusive cultural heritage. A key focus for ISSO in the INHERIT project is to provide sustainable methods and training for implementing changes at heritage sites, ensuring they meet EU standards for accessibility, inclusivity, resilience, and eco-friendliness. ISSO also shares its expertise in energy performance and collaborates with the EPB Centre to explore standardisation issues and opportunities. ISSO will also contribute to policy dialogues as part of the project.

Other partners of the project

INHERIT’s consortium gathers 18 partners from 13 European countries, involved in the project at various levels, covering the social, technological, and scientific layer, as well as the communication, dissemination and exploitation activities.
