ZSI

ZSI is a private non-profit institute for applied social sciences and a Centre of Excellence for social innovation based in Vienna (Austria). It implements research and application projects on the social embedding and impact of all types of innovations and contributes to the design and diffusion of socially accepted and sustainable innovations to meet global challenges. ZSI creates new knowledge, reflects and configures existing knowledge, evaluates measures, develops concepts and forwards their implementation. ZSI is engaged in the development of theories, methodologies, instruments and measures as well as in the dissemination of a systemically conceptualized broad innovation approach, contributing also to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Role in the project

ZSI leads the activities related to stakeholder engagement, co-creation & social innovation.. It contributes mainly to the active engagement of citizens, stakeholders, and social innovators in preserving cultural heritage and creating sustainable cultural strategies. A social lab methodology is being developed for project using a set of qualitative methods and approaches from social sciences and humanities. ZSI also leads the establishment of a multi-stakeholder forum.

INHERIT’s consortium gathers 18 partners from 13 European countries, involved in the project at various levels, covering the social, technological, and scientific layer, as well as the communication, dissemination and exploitation activities.
