Located in Noisiel, near Paris, this former industrial complex – now a listed building – will undergo a major transformation. Spanning approximately 34,000 m², the site will be redeveloped into a dynamic mixed-use space called “La Cité du goût”.
The project will include family housing, a student residence, a graduate school, a hotel and cultural venues around gastronomy.
Solutions
INHERIT will support the transformation of two office buildings, La Verrière and Colonnades, into 2 housing buildings (98 homes for Colonnades and 33 homes for La Verrière).
The pilot project will test different renovation options for the joinery (windows): replacement of the 1995 aluminium frames when they are single-glazed, while other wooden frames will be kept Verrière and adapted for new air inlets with a 2nd window on the inside.
Roof windows will also be added to provide natural light, and the reversible air conditioning will be replaced by a renewable district heating system that will also supply domestic hot water.
In addition, it will test renovation planning tools.
