Ave Sol Concert Hall
Riga, Latvia
History and features
The Ave Sol concert hall is part of the historical centre of Riga. Built between 1780 and 1785 as St. Peter and Pavel Church were, the building was then restored and reconstructed between 1980 and 1987. It was used as a church until 1940, when the territory of Latvia was occupied by the Red Army, and military units were located in the Citadel.
In 1977 the building was handed over to the Riga Culture administration to establish a concert hall.
Solutions
INHERIT will test data-driven energy management methods to improve the energy efficiency of the building and to investigate the transferability of the method to other buildings. INHERIT will also provide different solutions to improve thermal comfort and the site’s accessibility.
