Welcome to the INHERIT second newsletter!

Dear reader, 

much has happened since the first issue of the INHERIT newsletter. 

On the one hand, research proceeded to identify optimal renovation technologies and frameworks for cultural heritage buildings. Online workshops were also carried out with this purpose.  

On the other hand, in the INHERIT demonstrators, a second round of labs to involve local stakeholders in decision-making was delivered. The goal is to define tailored solutions for social and environmental sustainability of the pilot sites. 

INHERIT's impacts are also going beyond the project itself, through knowledge sharing with learning partners and external stakeholders, as well as through synergies with other projects and initiatives, including the participation in Sustainable Places and the new collaboration with the Smart Energy Cluster.

The INHERIT team

INHERIT peer-learning visits are about to begin, and we are grateful for the dedication of our learning partners, selected through an open call in April 2024.

This activity will involve different partners from cities across Europe, starting in Gdynia, Poland, and traveling to Cyprus, Slovenia, Greece, and Italy. During these study visits, the INHERIT pilot-ambassadors will discover local initiatives, engage in discussions, and learn from successful practices using cutting-edge technologies to protect and enhance historic buildings' efficiency. 
Beyond peer-learning, these exchanges exemplify international collaboration, as local authorities will join some of these visits.

Key takeaways from this exchange and peer-learning activity will be collected in guidelines for capacity building – stay tuned! 

In addition to existing collaborations with sister and similar projects, initiatives and networks (i.e. New European Bauhaus and Built4People), INHERIT has recently joined the Smart Energy Cluster.
