The General Assembly of the INHERIT project took place in Zagreb, Croatia, with a visit to the Energy Center Bračak
On October 21–22, 2025, the INHERIT consortium gathered in Croatia for its third project meeting, hosted in Zagreb and organised by our partner REGEA, responsible for the INHERIT’s Croatian pilot.
On the first day, we had the opportunity to reviewthe progress achieved so far and outline the next steps toward developing and testing the 11 support services designed to enhance the sustainability and resilience of the European heritage buildings The discussion proceeded with a detailed presentation on how these solutions are being implemented across our eight pilot sites.
As part of the meeting, participants visited the Energy Center Bračak a historic manor located in Zabok, which was successfully transformed into a nearly Zero Energy Building (nZEB). This site stands as a flagship example of how heritage buildings can combine preservation with modern energy performance.
The second day featured two interactive workshops which engaged partners in inspiring conversations about the INHERIT’s legacy and its impact on future policies. Organised by ICONS, the first session addressed the post-project phase, co-designing strategies for the future exploitation of INHERIT results.
Afterwards, ICLEI led a Policy Lab, addressing policy gaps and barriers to the sustainable renovation and management of heritage buildings across Europe.
The two-days meetingoffered us the opportunity to set a shared vision for the next months and and renew the collaboration among partners. Together, we are shaping a future where cultural heritage and sustainability go hand in hand, preserving the past while building a greener tomorrow.
